Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Annemarie Wiley denied accusations that she and her husband, Marcellus Wiley, are transphobic.
Despite their belief that transgender athletes should not compete against cisgender ones, Annemarie clarified on Carlos King’s podcast that labeling someone as transphobic is hurtful, appalling, and harmful.
She emphasized her support for the transgender community, transgender rights, and women’s sports, asserting that no one in their family is transphobic.
However, she did mention that they have concerns about transgender women competing against cisgender women in sports because of their physical disparities.
“My husband’s opinion is that he doesn’t agree with it and believes in creating safe environments for everyone, and I support that,” she explained.
The nurse anesthesiologist also stated that she felt “harassed” and “criticized” by her “RHOBH” co-stars because of their differing perspectives. Nevertheless, these discussions were not shown in the season.

Just over a year ago, the couple faced criticism after Marcellus expressed on social media that he has concerns about transgender women athletes competing against biological women.
“Why don’t men transitioning to women support women by competing against men?” the former NFL player, aged 49, posted on Instagram.
Following this, Annemarie’s appearance on the show was abruptly ended, as she was let go after just one season.
“I received news today that I won’t be back on ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ I can’t help but feel deeply disappointed,” she shared on Instagram on March 21.
