Kerry Washington Takes on the “Black Wife Effect” TikTok Challenge About Her “Scandal” Romance With Tony Goldwyn

Even though the show ended in 2018, Scandal fans can’t let go of the exciting and controversial relationship between Kerry Washington’s character and Tony Goldwyn’s character.
In the popular ABC series, Kerry played Olivia Pope, a former media consultant turned “fixer” who falls in love with President Fitzgerald Grant III. Despite him being married, their chemistry was undeniable.

For seven dramatic seasons, fans watched as the two characters had an affair and made bad decisions, but their chemistry kept viewers hooked. Fans even nicknamed them “Olitz.”

Fans’ fantasies were fueled by knowing that Kerry and Tony were best friends off-screen and still are today.

She went further by joining a popular trend on TikTok called the Black Wife Effect. It describes how white men change their style and haircut when they marry or date a Black woman.
Kerry posted her own TikTok version on her Instagram. She used it to encourage people to vote, knowing how to grab everyone’s attention with her content .
But what made this TikTok even funnier is that Kerry and Tony are married… to different people. Kerry is married to NFL player-turned-actor Nnamdi Asomugha. They have two children together. Tony has been with his spouse Jane Musky since 1987, and they also have two daughters.
