Tallulah Willis is talking about her life-changing autism diagnosis.
This weekend, the 30-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore posted a cute old video of herself with her dad. In the video, he is being interviewed on the red carpet while she playfully interacts with him, touching his ear.
Tallulah wrote in the caption, “Show me you have autism without actually saying it 😂”
In the comments, a fan asked if she was diagnosed with autism as a child. Willis replied, “Actually, this is the first time I’ve ever talked about my diagnosis publicly. I found out this summer and it has made a big difference in my life.”
The heartwarming video of the father and daughter and the announcement about Tallulah’s diagnosis come at a time when Bruce is facing frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
The family initially disclosed in 2022 that Bruce, 68, was dealing with aphasia, and later revealed in 2023 that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.
His wife Emma Heming recently talked about his well-being, dismissing claims that he no longer experiences joy.
Emma confirmed, “There is sadness and grief, but you can start a new chapter that’s filled with love, connection, joy, and happiness.”
Bruce has a strong support system that includes Emma, their daughters Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9), as well as his ex-wife Demi and their daughters Rumer (35), Scout (32), and Tallulah.
In January, Demi spoke on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show “Radio Andy” and was asked, “What message do you have for people with family members who have dementia, and are caring for them or in their lives?”
Demi tells her kids, “The key is to accept them as they are.” She adds, “When you stop holding onto who you want them to be, you can fully appreciate the happiness and love that they bring as they are.”
