Less than 24 hours after Angelina Jolie’s lawyers filed a motion, Brad Pitt’s legal team has taken action by filing their own motion.
In Pitt’s motion, his lawyers are asking for Angelina Jolie to reveal any Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) she has made with her staff or other third parties. Pitt’s attorney John Berlinski stressed the importance of understanding if Jolie required people to sign NDAs regarding their observations in her home, especially concerning Pitt and their children. Berlinski explained that such NDAs could reveal the credibility of Jolie’s claims about the NDA Pitt requested being unfair.
The filed papers also mentioned that the nature of the NDAs Jolie has signed or requested from others could shed light on her motivations for ending discussions with Pitt and engaging with another party, like Stoli. The documents highlighted Jolie’s reluctance to disclose additional NDAs she was involved in during that period, suggesting that they could weaken her arguments.
In Jolie’s previous court submission, her legal team accused Pitt of being abusive towards her even before the highly publicized 2016 airplane incident that led to their separation.
In the midst of their legal battle involving their French winery Château Miraval, court documents were filed to seek the release of communications allegedly showing that Brad Pitt insisted Angelina Jolie must sign a more strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before selling her share of the winery to him.
The documents also mentioned allegations of Pitt being physically abusive towards Jolie and their children before the 2016 airplane incident. However, no formal charges were brought against Pitt, and he has denied such abuse.
A close friend of Pitt shared thoughts on the situation, emphasizing that the current case revolves around whether there was an agreement not to sell their stakes in the winery and family home without each other’s agreement. This friend highlighted that the legal focus has been on protecting their assets.
Regarding the NDA requested from Jolie, it was described as a typical business contract safeguarding the share sale in Chateau Miraval. Curiously, there was confusion as to why Jolie found this NDA unreasonable when her own attorneys proposed a similar gagging clause during their divorce proceedings a few months later.
