TMZ got the police report about Justin Timberlake’s arrest. The police say they saw him run a stop sign near the American Hotel after leaving a gathering with friends. They followed him for half a mile as he swerved on the road before pulling him over in a residential area. The police suspected he was drunk because he had bloodshot eyes, smelled like alcohol, couldn’t focus, had slowed speech, and was unsteady. He also failed all the sobriety tests.
One more thing: police say Justin told them, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.” The report doesn’t mention his friends getting involved, but sources say they did try to help during the stop, asking the police to let him go.
8:44 AM PT — TMZ has new photos of Justin leaving the police station in Sag Harbor. He looks pretty relaxed despite what happened.
One photo shows Justin walking past a police car, wearing a casual outfit with a cap and sunglasses. He doesn’t seem outwardly distressed.
Another photo shows Justin and his lawyer leaving the courthouse through a back garage. The lawyer is holding a briefcase and leading Justin out.
7:15 AM PT — Justin was just arraigned and released without bail. He was charged with one count of DWI and cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. His next court date is July 26. He is being represented by criminal defense lawyer Ed Burke, Jr.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that during the traffic stop, police noticed Justin had glassy eyes and smelled like alcohol. He failed the field sobriety test, including the one-legged stand and walk-and-turn tests.
6:38 AM PT — Sources say Justin was at the American Hotel partying and blew a stop sign almost immediately after leaving. Police followed him when he started swerving and then pulled him over. They performed a field sobriety test and asked him to take a breathalyzer test, but he refused.
We also heard that several of Justin’s friends showed up and tried to get the police to let him go, but the police refused. Justin was handcuffed and arrested, and it’s all recorded on body cam.
